JEWELRY Co., a leading Chilbo(cloisonne) specialty manufacturer of Korea located in Chungju, has been producing excellent traditional Chilbo handicraft works since the establishment on January 1st, 2003. Chilbo means "Seven Treasures" referring to such valuables of gold, silver, glass, amber, pearl, agate and coral, which are known to originate from the Royal Egyptian Palace about 5,000 years ago. The Chilbo handicraft work of high refracting light angle, with it's shining & glossy color only next to that of diamond, is handicrafted by applying diverse colorful glaze coat nade of glass powder materials over to those precious metals such as gold, silver and copper through the multiple Baking Process heated with high temperature(800 ~ 900degrees). Chilbo is classified as Lined Chilbo(those with silver lining), Lineless Chilbo made only with glaze coat, and Sheet Metal Chilbo produced by punching the sheet metal pieces & etc. depending on the production techniques used. The primary ingredients of Chilbo glaze coat include silica, soda ash, borax & boric acid, of either transparent or semi-transparent. These ingredients, when blended and crafted appropriately, produce clear and shiny colored masterpieces together with the well harmonized baking process.
